Maybe you won’t find this as fascinating as I do…. but here goes. G came home after school yesterday and said, “I want to write down everything I know about math.” And then he did.
He worked on the paper below for well over an hour. Across the top, he has categories. Addition, subtraction, graphing, multiplication, division, and doubling. He then goes on to give examples of each category, as well as a description. Maybe this isn’t such a huge deal, but if you look closely at the examples, you can see that the subtraction category goes into negative numbers and the division examples include fractions (10 divided by 4 = 2 1/2). And he did all the calculations in his head. And he’s seven.
